Unit 8 "Microblogging the safe way!!!"

  1. A tip for adding images to your blog.
Adding images to your blog can be important for giving your readers a visual on the topic in which you choose to discuss. When adding images to your blog DO be mindful of these following tips:

  • be careful of the content that you post online- It is true that you have the freedom to post whatever you like on these blogs; however you must be aware that blogs can be accessed and viewed by almost anyone. If you are using your blog for professional or academic reasons then you must screen the content of these images carefully. If not, be ready for the disadvantages that come along with posting tasteless images.

    • lastly, cite. Cite. Cite- Just like with using information or works of authors for references, you must use the proper citations for images and various works of art. Like literature, illustrations can carry harsh academic and professional punishments as well.

    2.  A tip for concise communication.

Communication is critical for connecting and networking with people all over the world. The sole purpose for a blog is to network and to express your opinions and interests over the web. However if you message is unclear and is hard to follow due to the message being extensive, you lose your audience and your voice will not be heard. DO follow these tips for adapting concise communication:
    •
      • Lastly, Remain on topic- It’s nice to have a lot to say but kind of hard to follow when you are incorporating ideas that are off topic. If you are talking about weight loss and exercise and then deviate on the topic of how you locked your keys on the outside of your car (while inside), I think you may have strayed too far. Remain on topic and focused on the significance at hand.
    • in the words of a great comedian "Wrap it up!"(joke)- If you are over talking and not being direct with your readers, the audience loses interest and your message is misplaced. The sole purpose of "gaining a following" is to make sure your ideas are fresh, exciting, and undeviating.
